Tour Highlights
Itinerary
Day 1: Arriving in Muscat – Your First Day
Your adventure commences upon your arrival at Muscat International Airport. After seamlessly navigating through immigration, retrieving your luggage, and clearing customs, proceed to the arrival hall. Here, your dedicated chauffeur awaits to accompany you on your journey. Following your airport arrival, you will be transported to your accommodations in Muscat, where you will be staying overnight.
Day 2: A Half Day Exploring Muscat’s Rich Heritage
Embark on an enchanting journey through Muscat, Oman’s vibrant capital, starting with a convenient hotel pickup. Our first destination is the impressive Grand Mosque, a stunning architectural masterpiece that beautifully combines modern design with traditional Omani craftsmanship. Please note that the mosque is closed on Fridays and public holidays. Admire the intricately handcrafted carpets, dazzling chandeliers, and the breathtaking main prayer room under the grand dome – a photographer’s paradise. Female visitors are requested to dress modestly and wear a headscarf, while gentlemen are advised to wear trousers.
Following this, we will take a leisurely drive along the picturesque Corniche, enjoying the bustling Muttrah Souq – a sensory feast of colors and sounds. A quick photo stop at the majestic Al Alam Palace, the residence of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, with the historic Portuguese forts Mirani and Jalali in the background.
Our next stop is the fascinating Bait Al Zubair Museum, providing a glimpse into Oman’s rich history and heritage. The remainder of the day is yours to explore at your own pace. As evening approaches, return to your hotel in Muscat for a tranquil overnight stay.
Day 3: Dolphin and Whale Watching Adventure
On this thrilling day, we will coordinate your transportation from your Muscat lodging to the Marina, where an enchanting maritime expedition awaits. Our destination is the open seas, where we will embark on a boat excursion in search of fascinating marine creatures such as dolphins and majestic whales.
Witnessing these wild dolphins playfully swimming in their natural environment is a spectacular way to begin your day. With a stroke of luck, you may even have the opportunity to spot one of the diverse whale species that inhabit the waters just off the rugged coastline of Muscat. While we cannot guarantee sightings of all these creatures, the journey itself promises to be an enlightening experience that will enhance your knowledge of these captivating marine mammals.
Following the sea adventure, you will be transported back to the Marina and then to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to savor at your leisure. You will spend the night at your Muscat accommodation, having enjoyed a truly unforgettable day.
Day 4: Explore Muscat And Wahiba Sands
Following breakfast, embark on a journey to the picturesque Wahiba Sands in a four-wheel drive vehicle, where you can marvel at the stunning sand dunes and witness a breathtaking golden sunset. En route, take in the mesmerizing views of the Gulf of Oman, with its pristine white beaches contrasting against the azure waters. Pass by the charming fishing village of Quriyat and be sure not to overlook the striking sight of the Wadi Dayqah Dam, the largest of its kind in Oman. Keep an eye out for the numerous flamingoes and migratory birds that frequent its inlet streams.
Continue your adventure to Wadi Al Arbaeen, renowned as one of Oman’s most impressive wadis. Here, you can take a refreshing swim in one of the natural pools, savor a delectable BBQ meal, or have a relaxing picnic near the cascading waterfalls. Explore the fascinating Bimmah Sinkhole, a stunning limestone crater filled with crystal-clear turquoise waters. Local folklore suggests that this unique formation may have been caused by a meteorite. Accessible via a staircase, you can take a dip in the pristine waters and marvel at the natural wonder.
The itinerary then leads to the historic city of Sur, known for its ancient ruins, watchtowers, and picturesque beaches. Make a stop at a traditional dhow factory before winding through the rugged mountain landscapes en route to the Wahiba Sands. An overnight stay at the Arabian Oryx Camp is planned, offering the opportunity to experience the thrill of navigating through the undulating red and white sand dunes, some of which can reach heights of over 200 meters. Be sure to capture the mesmerizing patterns of the shifting sand dunes with your camera.
Indulge in a memorable overnight stay at the Arabian Oryx Camp, immersing yourself in the unique beauty and tranquility of the desert surroundings.
Day 5 – Wahiba To Muscat
Begin your day by indulging in a complimentary breakfast, followed by an exploration of the nearby Bedouin villages. Gain insight into the daily life of the Bedouin people as you visit a traditional home and witness firsthand how they thrive in the desert environment.
Next on the agenda is a visit to Wadi Bani Khalid, the only wadi in Oman with a consistent water supply throughout the year. Renowned for its crystal-clear waters, stunning landscapes, and opportunities for activities such as swimming, hiking, and sunbathing, this wadi is considered one of the most beautiful in the country. Conclude your journey by returning to Muscat International Airport for your flight back home.
