You will then be introduced to your designated driver who will transport you to your hotel. The rest of the evening is yours to unwind and discover the sights of Tel Aviv at your own pace. Enjoy a restful overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 2: From Tel Aviv to the Shores of the Sea of Galilee
After a satisfying breakfast, our journey commences with a brief stop at the historic city of Jaffa, also recognized as Joppa. Here, you will partake in a short walking tour through the enchanting old town’s narrow streets. Along the way, you will glimpse the residence of Simon the Tanner and enjoy panoramic views from the hilltop.
Continuing northward along the scenic coastline, we arrive at the intriguing archaeological remnants of Caesarea, originally crafted by Herod the Great as a tribute to Augustus Caesar. Our next destination is Megiddo, a location referenced in the Book of Revelations as the setting for a significant battle known as Armageddon. This ancient city has been continuously inhabited for over five thousand years, tracing back to 6000-500 B.C.
Following an exploration of the captivating ancient sites, we proceed towards the peaceful shores of the Sea of Galilee. Here, you will spend the night at a comfortable hotel in Tiberias.
Day 3: Exploring the Wonders of the Sea of Galilee
Following a satisfying breakfast, our day commences in the historically significant city of Tiberias. This city holds great historical importance, being the former residence of Jesus and the setting for his sermons on the serene shores of the Sea of Galilee. Our first destination is Capernaum, the focal point of Jesus’ ministry. Here, you will step back in time and gain a deeper understanding of the significance of this sacred location.
Continuing our journey, we will proceed to Tabgha, situated just north of Tiberias, where the miraculous feeding of the 5,000 took place. The Church of Multiplication, featuring a mosaic floor portraying a basket of loaves and fishes, serves as a poignant reminder of this extraordinary event. Our next stop will be the Mount of Beatitudes, offering a stunning view of the Sea of Galilee. This is where Jesus delivered his renowned Sermon on the Mount and selected his twelve apostles according to tradition.
The adventure then takes us to the heights of Golan Heights, providing a panoramic vista of Mt. Hermon’s peaks, the rugged plateau of Golan Heights, and the verdant Hula Valley below. Before concluding the day, we will visit the Yardenit Baptismal Site, a tranquil location along the Jordan River to the south of the Sea of Galilee. Following a day filled with exploration, you will return to our comfortable hotel in Tiberias for a peaceful overnight stay.
Day 4: Nazareth, Jordan Valley, Beit Shean, and Jerusalem Exploration
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on a journey filled with historical and spiritual significance. Your first destination is Cana, where you will explore the Wedding Church, a place where Jesus performed his first miracle of turning water into wine.
Next, you will visit Nazareth, the town where Jesus spent his early years. Here, you can marvel at the Church of Annunciation, believed to be built on the spot where the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary. Explore Mary’s Well and Joseph’s Church, both rich in history and symbolism.
After leaving Nazareth, travel through the Jordan Valley towards Beit Shean, an ancient city with a well-preserved Roman amphitheatre. Despite being struck by an earthquake, the city’s beauty remains intact. Finally, rest for the night in Jerusalem, concluding your day of exploration and discovery.
Day 5: Masada and the Enchanting Dead Sea
After enjoying a satisfying breakfast, we set off on an enchanting expedition to discover the breathtaking landscapes of the Dead Sea. Our next stop is Masada, a fortress situated atop a solitary cliff in the Judean Desert. This exceptional location has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001.
To access the fortress, we will take a cable car ride up the mount. Once at the summit, you will immerse yourself in the history of Masada, known as the final refuge for Jewish Zealots in their struggle against the Romans. Your tour will encompass visits to King Herod’s palace, the synagogue, the bathhouse, and more. From this elevated position, you will enjoy a stunning view of the Roman encampments and the captivating Dead Sea.
En route to the Dead Sea, we will pause at the Qumran Caves, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were unearthed. Positioned nearly 1,300 feet below sea level, the Dead Sea holds the title of Earth’s lowest point. Weather permitting, you can experience the unique sensation of effortlessly floating in its mineral-rich, salty waters. Following a day of exploration and leisure, you will return to your cozy hotel in Jerusalem for a tranquil night’s rest.
Day 6: Exploring Jerusalem’s Modern Side
Begin your day with a nourishing breakfast and prepare for an intriguing exploration of modern Jerusalem. Your first destination is the Israel Museum, where you will immerse yourself in history by visiting the renowned Shrine of the Book, housing the famous Dead Sea Scrolls.
Following this, you will travel back in time with a visit to the meticulously reconstructed model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem from the Second Temple period. This provides a unique opportunity to envision the city’s historical appearance.
Continuing your journey, you will explore Ein Karem, a picturesque village located in the southwest of Jerusalem. This village holds significance in Christian traditions as the traditional birthplace of John the Baptist. Its tranquil atmosphere and historical importance make it a highlight of the trip. You will then proceed to Yad Vashem, the official memorial commemorating the Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Established in 1953 at the foot of Mt. Hertzl, it serves as a powerful reminder of past atrocities.
In the afternoon, you will travel to Bethlehem, the revered birthplace of Jesus. Here, you will visit the Church of the Nativity and the iconic Manger Square, where the Christmas story unfolds. As the day comes to an end, you will return to your Jerusalem hotel to unwind and relax.
Day 7: Exploring the Historic Heart of Jerusalem
Start your day off right with a nourishing breakfast before embarking on a journey through the historic streets of Jerusalem’s Old City. Your first destination is the Western Wall, a place of great spiritual significance and the former site of the Second Temple, also known as the Temple Mount. While exploring the city, follow the path of the Via Dolorosa, also known as the Way of the Cross, which will lead you to Calvary and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This impressive church is home to both the traditional Crucifixion site and the Tomb of the Resurrection.
Just outside the southwestern boundary of the Old City lies Mount Zion, where you can visit the traditional tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper. Take a moment to admire the stunning panoramic view of Jerusalem from this vantage point, a city held sacred by three major world religions: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. The view from the Mount of Olives is truly breathtaking.
Wrap up your day with a visit to the Garden of Gethsemane, a historic site where Judas famously betrayed Jesus. Your overnight accommodations await you at a hotel in Jerusalem.
Day 8: Farewell to Jerusalem
Begin your day by enjoying a delightful breakfast at your hotel, savoring the last moments in the captivating city of Jerusalem. After checking out of your accommodation, head to the airport for your departure.
